Supply Chain EDI solutions
Supply chains are very much reliant on documents being exchanged at all stages: from manufacture and ordering through to delivery and invoicing. EDI is now an important part of this. The UK retail grocery sector has led the way in implementing EDI. It has been recently estimated that about 27 million orders are made every year via EDI in this sector saving some £650m.
But, even here there is still room for more saving with the use of dispatch notices or Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN). More and more of the leading grocery retailers are implementing ASNs with their suppliers.
Outside the retail grocery sector the story is quite different. In other sectors, such as DIY, and clothing, it is estimated that the EDI adoption rate could be as low as 25%.
